The local media (newspapers, radio and television) are an important partner of Grande Yellowhead; providing relevant, timely information to the division’s communities regarding decisions, activities and concerns. Grande Yellowhead therefore strives to maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with local media representatives. The division responds to inquiries from the media in a timely fashion through the provision of documentation, information and interviews. The individual who has the information required may vary but media inquiries are handled by one individual, who responds, researches the information, or passes questions to the appropriate source. This streamlines communications activities, ensuring the consistency of messages and increasing the responsiveness of the division and individual schools.
At the Education Services Centre, inquiries are handled by the Communications Manager. The Communications Manager also provides guidance and support on communications concerns to divisional staff and administration when required. Inquiries directed towards specific schools are handled by the school principal, or their designate.
