2021-2022 School Year Learning Options
In GYPSD, student learning is the number one priority. As an innovative school division, GYPSD acknowledges some students prefer alternate options for completing their education. As such, GYPSD is pleased to provide outstanding, flexible approaches for student learning, including Learn-at-Home Distance Education (paper and/or online platform supported) or a Hybrid option.
High school students can receive fluid service with three options:
1. Traditional school experience (on-site)
2. Hybrid High School Virtual Learning Experience - on-site/virtual provided by the local high school. (Paper-based and/or online platform supported with Hapara)
3. Distance Education (Learn at Home)– Hapara Platform, supported virtually and/or in print by local Learning Connection teachers (option for in-person support by Learning Connection teachers by appointment).
The difference between hybrid and distance is the hybrid model is only for high school students attending their local GYPSD high school.
Students in Grades 1-9 can access fluid service with two options:
1. Traditional school experience (on-site)
2. Distance Education (Learn at Home)– Hapara Platform, supported virtually and/or in print by local Learning Connection teachers (option for in-person support by Learning Connection teachers by appointment).
Please contact your school principal to discuss the Learn at Home or Hybrid options.
**Home Education is also available to families. Please contact Assistant Superintendent (acting) Learning Services Carra Aschenmeier at (780) 723-4471 for information on how to set up an approved Home Education program.
