Human Resources is a personnel driven department that assists with nearly every aspect of an employee’s journey within GYPSD. From recruitment to providing onboarding packages to new employees, maintenance of personnel files, assistance in recognition programs, and to retirement transition. Human Resources works closely with the Payroll department to ensure all employee information is concise and accurate.

The Human Resources department is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily and closed on weekends and holidays.

GYPSD employees have the option to partake in the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP).

Employee Family Assistant Program (EFAP)
All employees also have access to the Employee Family Assistant Program (EFAP) through Homewood Health. This confidential service provides assistance in achieving your health and wellness goals.

Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP)
Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) is a defined benefit pension plan, which mean that a member of LAPP will receive a set pension based on the pensionable salary and years of pensionable service, not how much an employee or employer have contributed or the returns on the pension investment.

Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund Board (ATRF)
ATRF is an independent corporation established under the Teachers’ Pensions Plan Act, and from its office in Edmonton administers the Plan for all Alberta teachers employed by school jurisdictions and charter schools.
