GNS: PCHS New STEM Centre

As part of its Community Investment Program, Trans Mountain has donated $5,000 to Parkland Composite High School (PCHS). The Trans Mountain Technology and Engineering Centre will help further education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The goal of the Trans Mountain Technology and Engineering Centre is to create a facility providing a range of STEM learning opportunities for students such as robotics, coding, programming, and graphics/media design. The centre will provide further opportunities for career development and industry partnerships for Parkland Composite and its learners. “This donation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to support educational opportunities to communities along the pipeline,” said Lexa Hobenshield, Manager of Lower Mainland and Community Investment. “We are proud to partner with Parkland Composite High School to provide STEM opportunities to students.” The centre strives to "provide students real opportunities and chances to further their education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Now we are able to offer future career options and challenge our students. It’s a great opportunity for the students to excel in today’s world and to teach them the practical skills needed to be successful in the future,” says Parkland Principal, Vince Dikaitis.
