Students studying in French at exciting activities organized by École Jasper Elementary took part in a variety of l'ACFA last month.
The celebrations kicked off with Le lever du drapeau franco-albertain, marking the start of a month filled with cultural experiences. Students explored the town in a Chasse aux mots, discovering French words in their surroundings. The month also featured an Afrobeat dance workshop, presented by La Girandole, where all students, including those in the English program, had the chance to immerse themselves in French culture through music and movement.
In Alberta, March is designated as Francophonie Month (Mois de la francophonie albertaine). This annual celebration highlights the French language and the contributions of Francophones to the province's cultural heritage and identity. The Alberta government proclaimed March as Francophonie Month in 2018 to celebrate the French language, its speakers, and their rich cultural traditions.
