GNS: Trustees Attend Fall Conference

GYPSD Trustees and members of the senior team attended the Public School Boards' Association of Alberta (PSBAA) Fall Conference and Annual General Meeting where they worked together to explore their individual and Board values. The workshop focus provided new boards (just completing their first year since last fall's election) the chance to reflect on their Board's decisions through a value-informed lens. The conference was opened by an inspiring keynote address from Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, who spoke to the importance of excellent public education in democratic and inclusive societies. Board Chair Karpluk received a trio of books on diversity and inclusion from the Lieutenant Governor to bring back to GYPSD students.
