Schools Host Wellness Fairs

Posted on:

In May, the Division’s Wellness Navigators hosted a number of wellness fairs for all students at Jasper/Junior Senior High School, Parkland Composite High in Edson, and Harry Collinge High in Hinton.

Erin Wallace, the Division’s Wellness Navigator Supervisor, noted, “It was truly fantastic to see such a diverse group of community vendors come together, sharing a wealth of resources, engaging in teachable moments, and genuinely connecting with our students.”

A wide variety of organizations volunteered their time to participate in this important event which included representatives from the RCMP, Fire Department, Alberta Health Services, HS, Options, Family and Community Support Services, and community libraries, among many others. Their presence made these events a huge success by providing our students direct access to available
services, and information on various ways to support their health and well-being.

Wellness Navigators are in each high school across the Division and support students by actively providing mental health supports to students with in-class events, out of school programs, and
resources.

Ms. Wallace and her team send out a sincere thank you to all the organizations who dedicated their time and effort to make these wellness fairs so impactful for our students. Their commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive community is deeply appreciated!
