GNS: Canadian Author Visits Evansview

Posted on:

Evansview School recognized Canadian Author's Day on Wednesday, April 19, 2022. Teachers switched classes, chose their favourite Canadian author, and read a story to their 'new class'. Students heard new stories and had the chance to interact with a different teacher than they normally see in their classroom. The teachers were excited to work with a different age group, and students learned some new facts about Canadian authors and now recognize the significant impact Canadian authors have on literacy around the world. As a follow-up to Canadian Author's Day, Evansview had Canadian Author, Mike Boldt, come to the school on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, as part of their Education Week activities. Mr. Boldt talked to each of the classes and led them through writing and illustration workshops. Mr. Boldt signed some books that were added to classroom libraries and each class had one student win a book that had been signed by Mr. Boldt. Mr. Boldt's books include Bloop, Good Night Alligator, How to Grow A Dinosaur and many more titles that have been printed and distributed across North America.
