École Pine Grove Middle School (PGMS) recognized National Indigenous History Month with displays featuring First Nations, Métis and Inuit current and historical cultural traditions, items, and books. Thank you to Cree and Michif teacher Mrs. Davenport, and Family School Liaison Counselor Miranda Keyes, for the use of the items on display. PGMS students also coloured shoes for a bulletin board remembering and honouring the many children, 1,323 and counting, who died at Residential Schools and were buried in unmarked graves. June 21, 2021, marked the 25th anniversary of  National Indigenous Peoples' Day, celebrating the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples!
